Have a Delicious Day!
by Bethany on 11/24/11
Happy Thanksgiving! My rolls are currently rising, so I finished a card and wanted to share. This card could be used as a Thank You card or a Birthday card.
I followed a sketch from www.deconstructingjen.com as close as I could, but I had to move the sentiment from the center over to the right so as not to cover up part of the image! I hope this counts. :) The card itself is a kraft paper 4"x5.5" card, from my local craft store. All of the patterned papers are from the Jillibean Soup Apple Cheddar Soup 6"x6" pad, and the cute little girl is Apple Emma from C.C. Designs. The sentiment is from AmyR Stamps' Mixed Messages set. Stamped Emma onto C.C. Designs Copic Quality 80lb cardstock with Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black), and colored her in with Copics. Her blue dress was paper pieced. I added some Glossy Accents and Smooch pearl accents to the apples, but I don't think the picture shows these vey well (purchased at the LCS). Rounded all corners with my corner punch, and made the lace doily edge with my EK Success edge punch. Inked the edges with ColorBox pigment ink in Chianti, and then chalked behind the image and sentiment with bright yellow chalk. Tied a red shoelace ribbon around the card and adhered the sentiment with a foam square to add some dimension. Everything else was glued with my GlueGlider Pro. I will try to add a picture of the inside of the card a little later, but I wanted to go ahead and post this while I had some time!
Thanks for reading!
Yes, I now Blog (hangs head in shame)

Hello! Thanks for checking out my sweet little website! First of all, let me say that I will try not to bore you with details of my daily pet peeves/diet/wardrobe...I feel that the Facebook Generation is one of OVER-sharing, and I just don't think everyone really cares what you ate for breakfast! On that note, I recently discovered that cardmakers everywhere have blogs to post pictures of cards, talk about techniques, and (most importantly) GIVE AWAY FREE STUFF! Yay! But wait...in order to be entered into these contests for said free stuff, you have to enter a picture of a card you have made, yep...from your blog. Aghhh! So, you see, I HAD to start a blog to be eligible for some giveaways! Oh well....send me an e-mail if I ever get annoying, please!

Have you ever felt like life is moving at warp speed, but you are stuck in slooooow mooooootion? That is me, allll the time when it comes to cardmaking! I made 3 or 4 Halloween cards the week of Halloween, and I was pretty proud of myself. Then, I read other cardmakers' blogs about having CHRISTMAS cards done already? Whaat?! Do I even know where my Christmas-themed paper/stamps/ribbons are?? So, this weekend is my chance to catch up to the rest of the world. I guess the point is to be one holiday ahead, so that you can have time to sell your cards before the holiday is upon us? Hmmmm, what a crazy, genius idea!! It's not quite Thanksgiving yet, right? That means it's technically still 'Fall', right? Ok, thanks for agreeing, makes me feel better ;) Here is a Fall-themed Thank You card to show appreciation towards a good friend. The pumpkins have nothing to do with friendship, I know, but look at how cute they are!
For this card, I used My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose "Mabel" 6"x6" papers, and punched the layers with my corner punch. The orange card was a pre-folded card (I used to measure, cut and perfectly fold these myself?!) I bought from my local craft store (rhymes with Sobby Bobby, and I spend way too much money there). The little boy is Autumn Trevor, a Sugarplums stamp from allthatscraps.com. The pumpkins are the Fall Scene stamp, also from ATS. Both of these images were stamped onto C.C. Designs Copic Quality 80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers (I am definitely still learning how to shadow/layer these awesome alcohol-based markers!). The tag was cut out with my oldschool Sizzix machine (Santa, if you are reading this, I've been very good and I would love a Cuttlebug!) and inked with a mini sponge dauber and brown ink. The sentiment on the tag is a part of the Friends Sentiments set from AmyR Stamps over at ATS. I stamped it with some embossing ink and used brown detail embossing powder before heating it with my heat gun. Glued everything down with my PermaTac Glue Glider Pro (sorry, no link, this just came from that Sobby Bobby place) and used some foam adhesive squares to elevate Trevor off the card a little. The lace detail was made with an EKSuccess punch (again, from the local store), and the cute leaf brad was from my momma, who also loves to frequent Sobby Bobby ;) Dang it, forgot to take a picture of the inside, but I used another sentiment from the Friends set. Whew! Sorry about all the linking, but I really appreciate when other bloggers tell me where to go so that I can recreate their cuteness!
Thanks for sticking with me, and for visiting my site. Remember to e-mail me with any questions or orders. Now, I must go enter some giveaways!! Have a good weekend, happy scrapping!
